چکیده

The spatial and temporal distribution of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere contains information regarding sources and sinks at the surface. Quantitative interpretation of this information requires the use of a chemical tracer transport model (CTM) (Enting et al, 1995; Fan et al, 1998; Rayner et al, 1999; Bousquet et al, 2000; Gurney et al, 2002). The problem of inverting the tracer transport model to obtain emissions from concentration data is complicated by the fact that regional sources and sinks may produce nearly identical concentration patterns as seen by the present observational network, which cannot be distinguished on the basis of CO2 concentrations alone. A sink resulting from nitrogen fertilization of the Boreal forest, for example, might produce the same depression in observed CO2 concentration in the marine boundary layer at 50° N latitude as a somewhat weaker sink resulting from uptake by enhanced phytoplankton productivity in the North Atlantic Ocean. In other words, the matrix relating fluxes and concentrations, which must be inverted to estimate these sinks, is nearly singular

Application of Wavelet Neural Network in Forward Kinematics Solution of 6-RSU Co-axial Parallel Mechanism Based on Final Prediction Error

Application of artificial neural network (ANN) in forward kinematic solution (FKS) of a novel co-axial parallel mechanism with six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) is addressed in Current work. The mechanism is known as six revolute-spherical-universal (RSU) and constructed by 6-RSU co-axial kinematic chains in parallel form. First, applying geometrical analysis and vectorial principles the kinematic...

Damon Room , NCAR , Boulder CO Co - Chairs :

The first day of the meeting consisted of a series of presentations by working group members using CCSM (or closely related models) to study the climate. These studies could be loosely categorized into three topics: the effects of sea ice on constituents of the global climate, fresh water fluxes in the ocean, and Arctic clouds. All presentations dealt primarily with the Northern Hemisphere. The...

Direct Effect of Carbon Monoxide on Relaxation Induced by Electrical Field Stimulation in Rat Corpus Cavernosum

PURPOSE Carbon monoxide (CO) may mediate smooth muscle relaxation in the rat corpus cavernosum smooth muscle (CCSM). We hypothesized that CO plays a role in neurally derived, frequency-dependent relaxation of rat CCSM. MATERIALS AND METHODS To study the effect of CO on CCSM relaxation induced by electrical field stimulation (EFS), a CCSM bundle was mounted on a force transducer and perfused w...

RESIP2DMODE: A MATLAB-Based 2D Resistivity and Induced Polarization Forward Modeling Software

Forward modeling is an integral part of every geophysical modeling resulting in the numerical simulation of responses for a given physical property model. This Forward procedure is helpful in geophysics both as a means to interpret data in a research setting and as a means to enhance physical understanding in an educational setting. Calculation of resistivity and induced polarization forward re...
